Wasn't Marriner the ref who ruled out Song's goal v Arsenal!?

Can't wait for the new season to start even though we should of got a draw at least last night. We will probably end up 12 or 13th the way things are going.Has Teddy stopped training the strikers and moved over to the defence?

How was this given as a foul but no booking or worse given?

Re: Marriner
I've seen replays today, the goal was offside, Terry knew exactly what he was doing, very clever, but can you imagine it up the other end with Collins & Hazard? Hazard himself could've gone, even Cahill's challenge on Koyoute, although he won the ball, that kind of tackle and follow-through now is an absolute guaranteed yellow.

As I've said, I think refs in the main do a good job and I try not to get caught up in caning them, but Marriner is like this every time he refs one of our games.

Re: Marriner
I thought the penalty decisions that Leicester didn't get last night were pretty bad, definitely seems to the big club bias in full effect.

Or it might just be another shit ref.

Re: Marriner
Having been at the game and not seeing any highlights I assiming Kouyate was booked catching the Chelsea players head?
If that is the case how did Da Coata get away without any punishment for his challenge on Cresswell?
Having seen the stills this morning if Carroll's was a red last season then that is a red all day long but it was not even a booking and yet some still want to defend the officials last night.

Hackett was right for once, most of the ones who are at the very top of the game are shit. They are tolerated because they give the big clubs what they want?

That Newcastle penalty last night - things like that seem to be condoned. you've only got to ask yourself if we have any referees who stand up to any of thre big four or five teams, and the answer is obviously no. Clattenberg got the treatment from Chelsea, it just set a precendent of very little or no support for referees daring to upset some clubs.

croe, true

Also there are not enough of them. I think i read somewhere that this season we only have a squad of 17 refs, that is something like 5 less than last season. So pretty difficult to bin them when they fuck up.

Marriner ?? Chelsea's number 12

We had a run of really, really shocking referees but looking around at other games it ain't going to change any time soon because most of them are fucking awful

Re: Marriner
Even stranger is that moaning about it seems to upset people who didn't go?

JayeMPee 11:21 Thu Mar 5
Re: Marriner
One thing for sure Hazard was a darn sight further offside than Nolan was when he scored against manure. Funny how the decisions go with the big finance teams!

DJH 11:17 Thu Mar 5
Re: Marriner
I think we have been unfortunate with a number of decisions this season simply because they could have gone either way and have often felt like a defing moment in a game, take Spurs away had the same referee awarded us a late penalty at home to Villa we would have little to grumble about but it seems too many things have gone against us rather than for us.

Now obviously we are biased and in all the incidents we moan about I don't think the officials have an agenda against and I think we just have been unfortunate but last night the officials clearly were not objective and far more blatant than the perceived biased at home to Arsenal and Manchester United many felt was the case.

And not just trivial mistakes that wind a crowd up like the wrong throw on that was given last night when the ball wasn't over the line.

You're talking about game changing decisions, goals given (against us) or disallowed ( for us) that have cost us points all season! Pens not given its been atrocious!

Rossal 10:49 Thu Mar 5
Re: Marriner
Never seen a ref so influenced by a manager or players as much as last night. The ref was shocking, he should have also give a pen for Collins handball

claretandbluedagger 10:18 Thu Mar 5
Re: Marriner
At least three refereeing decisions were made by Branoslav Ivanovic, like the throw in where Enner turned him on the line without taking the ball out, and a couple of soft fouls. Mourinho has clearly gotten into the heads of referees. Costa could have been sent off for using his elbow on Tomkins whilst not even looking at the ball, yet shock horror the ref chose not to. Their goal really should not have stood, but the linesman always seemed to be five yards behind where he should have been. Sack the refs, we don't need them.
